After rereading the series last year before the release of the novella, I've been inspired to create some fanart illustrations. Because so much of Cardan's character is extravagance and excess, I was really interested in creating a 'dressed-down' sort of portrait that still gave that atmosphere, but through dramatic lighting and staging rather than props and costuming.
